Comments
Comments: Given the forecast we started very early with head lamps. The Higher Summits forecast was spot on in terms of a weather window. Made good time to the hut and decided to head first to Adams. There is not much snow above tree line so we stayed in spikes but it was slow going on the rocks.

Fantastic at the summit with temps in the high 20s but quite breezy. Left our packs at the hut and tromped up Madison as the winds were accelerating across the cone. Could only stay a few minutes but all the peaks were still in the clear under an increasingly grey sky with clouds gathering in the south. The trail ice above the lower Scar Trail intersection was soft enough that spikes were fine but we did carry crampons.

Thanks to John and June, Bill, & Dave for a great day. And Congrats to Lori for completing her December Grid. Way to Go!! Great Day Up Top that we had waited all month for!
