| Comments: |
Surprised to see NO SNOW north of Franconia Notch & only trace amounts/ patches as high as 3,500ft. Trail and woods were mostly snow free with thin monorail of ice on trail between stretches of bare ground w/ exposed wet rock and occasional mud. Saddle between Owl's Head and Martha had some lingering crusty drifts a few inches deep. The steep section just south of Owl's Head was tricky with ice but all 7 of us managed it with light traction. |
