Comments
Comments: We traversed from the Wapack on the north side (where it intersects Mountain Road) to the south side of the park. Very little snow at the beginning, but we needed microspikes almost from the first few feet. It started snowing then, and that kept falling through the day (most of the day), which made spikes difficult by the end of the trail as the snow was balling in them. However, there was ice on the majority of the trail, and people who were barebooting left long stripes of revealed ice in the snow. There were some spots where warm spring flows made for muddy stretches or where thaws left just rocks.
