Comments
Comments: Followed the snow mobile trail to Haystack Rd, then turned west for a short distance and picked up Forest Rd 304a. Hiked up 304a in 3-4" of powder for about 20 minutes, then generally headed SSW into the sun, trying to pick a good line with open woods. Had to circumvent some sections of thick spruce. Followed some orange flagging for a while that had good lines through the cliff bands. Snow was about 8-12" in the woods. A lot of thick ice on the cliff bands, but with the help of a few trees, was able to handle it with snowshoes. Steep going up to the false peak, then miraculously, found a solid herd path that I was able to stay on to the summit. Canister was there but not in the mood to even try it. Very wet and tired.
