Comments
Comments: There is a lot of snow out there and it has set up very firm where it has been broken out by snowmobiles or snowshoes. Did test it off the path and I did not sink but I think if it warms up it will compress substantially. Ice on the upper third of the mountain was gorgeous on the trees and we were happy we weren't hit by softball size chucks that hung from the trees! We went up Winslow which was packed hard and icy in places. Barlow Trail was much softer due to less use, the trail is not as steep and is the nicest to go down. We saw no one else today on the trails but two vans of Colby Sawyer College girls pulled in as we were leaving! (Thanks Lynda for suggesting we take a quick trip to a local peak as we continue your State Park Tour.)
