| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Stinson Lake is open and in great shape from Rumney to the trial head. However the only other hiker I saw today (he was headed to 3 ponds shelter) said he tried to come from Campton and found the road is closed. He road walked 2mi to get the the trail head, no need for that, come from Rumney side.
The parking lot is not plowed. 4X4 will be able to park in lot. I parked on the road which seemed fine today. Probably would not be okay on a day when they had to plow though. |

| Comments: |
This side of 3 ponds tr. is heavily snowmobiled. Kineo trail is well broken (not sure how far, but I would guess to Donkey Hill Cutoff).
In a few places, there was evidence of previous accents on Carr Mt tr. However this was for the most part untracked. Most of the trail breaking was easy, but there were some spots that were harder due to soft snow. I have broken trail two ways as I did an out and back from 3ponds tr. There is no evidence that anyone has been up the Warren side recently.
The summit has a few spots to stand and obtain good views, including the cement stairs to nowhere. I bet the tower offered a great view. As the trees grow, this summit will become much like Mt. Hale--towerless and nearly viewless. |
