| Comments: |
Starr King trail had solid base with 2-3 inches of new powder overnight and some drifting in places. Kilkenney Ridge had no evidence of previous trail breaking. Three of us broke trail in very deep snow to S. Weeks. Lots of spruce traps. Yellow blazes made trail finding possible most of the time. Some blazes were faded and shin high. There were several areas without blazes and we went off trail for no more than 100 feet before we found our way. Thanks to Zach Porter (Cold River Camp Cook) who really did the bulk of trail breaking. It was a beautiful, cold and strenuous day. |
