Comments
Comments: The trail through the hardwoods is mostly dry with an occasional muddy spot. Monorail starts soon after entering the spruce forest. In the morning the cover was still firm and I could bareboot, though some would prefer microspikes. Carried snowshoes but did not need them. On my way back the snow had softened and any step off the monorail was a posthole. So I stayed on the straight and narrow and so did my dogs. As the weather warms up snowshoes is the way to go between Starr King and Waumbek.
