Comments
Comments: Davis Path well packed to just below the first outlook. Thereafter I had to break trail including hike up to Mt Crawford. The trail is now broken out to the junction with the Mt Parker Trail. Snowshoes are highly recommended. Traction is not as essential. MicroSpikes would have problems with flotation. There are almost no markings for the trail and the way is difficult to discern in some places. I strayed west of the trail in a couple of places so at forks in the trail take the east route (right side on ascent). Winds fill the snowshoe track in exposed ledge areas. Many face slapper evergreen boughs especially north of Crawford Dome.
Only saw two other hikers from Boston who had camped out just below the first outlook ledge on the Davis Path.
