A few large rotten trees across the trail on High Ridge and Faraway Mt. Trail. |

This is a perfect hike for a dog. Also would be a great trail run as all of the hike after the Roberts summit is an easy switchback grassy carriage path. |

Pleasantly surprised that I was not bothered by bugs today. |

I missed the actual path to Faraway. I was going at a pretty good clip along the High Ridge trail. I past the swampy area and the log bench at the spot were there were sweeping views. By the time I realized it I was too far down the trail! Got tired of the long switch backs and cut through the woods coming out along the brook and finally at the spring. Had a nice day on my own in the woods but disappointed that I missed the actual summit of Faraway. Think I was pretty close though. |
