Comments
Comments: The surface conditions varied from bare wet ground to over a foot of snow on the approach to the summit. There were a few minor areas of mud, short sections of monorail, running water on the ledges, and mushy snow. MicroSpikes are probably the best bet although snowshoes may be helpful in the snow near the summit. It did not appear the postholes would be very deep in the snow areas. One can get by with no traction in some stretches of the trail.
The sun put in an appearance when I was at the highest elevations. Otherwise it was hiking in a cloud today. No views today due to the clouds.
