Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: With the exception of the Mt. Major trails, which have been chronically beat to death for decades, the rest of the trails are in pretty darn good shape and infrequently used--no blowdowns, recent waterbars in many places, blazing is easy to follow. Thanks!

Bugs: Black flies were biting but not unbearable. Went away in the afternoon. Some pretty big leeches in Round Pond!

Comments
Comments: 1st time on the BRT & Quarry Trail between Major and Belknap. It's very impressive with many open ledge vistas, a wide range of forest types, highland ponds, and lots of interesting rock formations. Quite a few challenging sections and rock scrambles. The trail doesn't see a lot of use and is still nice and soft on the feet. We were impressed at every turn. Will be back to see what it looks like in the fall and winter.
