Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: success pond road. my favorite hate road. however, it is in better shape this year. the short road that goes in to the trailhead is OK. my minivan stopped at the fork, about halfway in, for fear of bottoming out. those with higher clearance will have no trouble driving in to the trailhead. there were 2 vehicles all the way in. there is area for parking in either place.

Comments
Comments: the cloud ceiling was below 1000 feet to start, so all the rock slabs were a bit tricky going up. everything was wet, although it never rained. the clouds all lifted when I reached the summit, so the views were outstanding. lots of alpine bogs on top of this long flat summit. very cool. had a little trouble finding the old plane crash site, but finally located it. felt like a privilege to walk around this wreckage.
