Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The only major water crossing is the one to *get* to the trail at the island... a boat is necessary in summer tho skis work in winter. Chose a windy day by accident; the return trip up-wind was challenging... there are a variety of places you can cross tho on the way back i went diagonally back to the mainland immediately to get out of the way of the wind.
Trail Maintenance Notes

Comments: Bear Island/St. Johns on-the-Lake Chapel, unnamed trail from church docks on Deep Cove

Nice short trail to this firetower location (now part of a church). Didn't stay long... just long enough to make some phone calls that this trip was going to take longer than I expected :)

I didn't bring ropes to tie off at the church docks on the island so I had some difficulty pulling my kayak up onto the dock tho it was doable.

Fun morning!!! Glad I brought some candy for quick energy!!! Took about 2 hours to paddle the approx 5 miles RT but it was windy.
