Comments
Comments: Cost $4 per person so this might be a good late day hike if you don't want to pay. Trail starts about 100yds before parking area/widening of road. It appears to be old fire tower road. It stays left with a mtn bike trail (all downhill if you mtn bike) to the right. Takes about 7 minutes to reach fire tower remains (concrete abutments). Now the cool/not so cool part. The entire summit clearing is filled with huge ant hills and the ants that made them. I quickly counted 30 hills. Some were 4-5 feet in diameter. Some might be abandoned but we didn't stay too long to check it out. Ants were everywhere. About a cm in size and black red variety. We descend the Ferret Trail which had some mud, but that was only one small section. Came back to Podunk Rd and walked to car. 20min round trip.
