Comments: Awesome bushwhack inspired by looking south at stone ridge on Baldface from East Royce yesterday. Took Baldface Circle Trail to Bicknell Ridge Trail, took that trail and turned left off it about a mile up, and traversed down to Charles Brook. Climbed the other side up to base of stone north ridge. Scrambled up ridge and connected with Circle Trail up South Baldface, and climbed to summit. Dropped down south side a short way and had lunch, then continued down slabs into woods. Bushwhacked east, passing extensive dead birch stand. Much moose sign there. Soon hit Baldface Knob Trail and quickly reached junction with Slippery Brook Trail. Took Slippery Brook Trail back to Circle Junction.
