Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Royce Trail crossing moderate. Bottom of boots got wet, but no real difficulties.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Huge number of blowdowns on Royce and Basin Rim. Many were problems of one sort or another. One high up on Royce Trail necessitated a substantial bushwhack. It got pretty tedious going around and under them. Some on Basin Rim have been cut by axe recently, but only a small percentage.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes:
Bugs
Bugs: Too cold in morning for flies. There were some in afternoon around Basin Pond.

Comments
Comments: Some snow patches on Basin Rim, and a little fresh ice on Royce heading up to West Royce. Snow was solid and easily walked. Never tempted to put on my microspikes.
