Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Plenty of water opportunities. Fine hike for dogs. There are a few tiny scrambles, but nothing most dogs can't easily handle.
Bugs
Bugs: Very few! EXCEPT -- there is a wasps/hornets nest just southwest of the Mt. Meader Trail/Meader Ridge Trail intersection. See below.

Comments: Gorgeous day. Not humid for a change, bugs were few, life was good.

Mt. Meader Trail is gradual, except for a half mile near the top, so it never feels steep or unpleasant. It was a lovely way to reach the ridge.

Meader Ridge Trail -- gorgeous, gorgeous ridgewalk with views here and there. The woods on the ridge feel peaceful (and have a lot of moose poop!).

NOTE -- within a tenth of a mile southwest of Mt. Meader Trail/Meader Ridge Trail intersection, there is a little (tiny) rock scramble in the woods. Somewhere around that scramble..within the crevices of the rocks, or perhaps immediately off the trail under a log...there is a wasps/hornets nest. One of us disturbed it just by hiking the trail (no one was off trail). I was climbing the rocks when they came at me...luckily, Sage, Alex, and Max were spared (the winged critters targeted me). So....be careful of that spot. I don't know exactly where that nest is, but it's extremely close to the trail (or in the rocks somewhere).

Bicknell Ridge Trail is stunning. Constant views on the upper mile toward South Baldface's ledges. Loved that trail. Tons of ripe blueberries up there!

This is a beautiful hike in one of the most scenic parts of New Hampshire. We had a great day.

I'll post a TR with plenty of pictures on my blog at some point this weekend.
