East Whitcomb (2510') Fire Tower
Using trip reports from others, and a map that showed a road most of the way to col to the west of this peak, we made way. From the parking area, followed the ATV/logging road which sort of parallels the main dirt road. At .3 the grassy logging road bends left; at .8 turned right onto an ATV path; follow uphill; turn right at the ATV 4-way; as we approached the col, turned right onto a very old ATV trail... which was brushy at first but soon opened up; took this to the summit (standing tower). |
