| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
This is from bryan's report with my additions below
"from a bit north of lake francis on rt. 3 i turned left onto day road, which became perry stream road, driving for a total of about 11.7 miles from the highway to the end of the drivable portion of perry stream road. at this point there is a dilapidated bridge and some room to park just before. the road was in good shape with some relatively minor rough spots and potholes. at about 10.3 there is a culvert that looks to be headed for failure, but can still be driven over with care at this point."
The bridge is fixed and the culverts are all in great shape. In fact they were working on the road as I was leaving. My Elantra made it to the end of the road. |

From the end of the road I bushwhacked towards the west peak of prospect hill. I was not certain of my start point, so it was kinda haphazard. The woods were easy. I was lucky to hit the canister before even hitting the swath! I then walked the swath (easy walking) to prospect hill, bushwhacking a very short distance on the Canada side to summit. From prospect I followed the swath a couple of tenths and took the ridge to Perry. I then bushwhacked back to the car. All great woods, good loop. There are some good views from the swath on prospect hill. |
