This hike brought us to Carr Mountain in Wentworth, NH, #76 on the list of 93 fire towers that are standing, once stood or were proposed. We started out on the Three Ponds Trail and followed it to the Carr Mountain Trail. The weatherman called for a mostly cloudy day, he forgot to mention those clouds would contain rain! We got wet and muddy on this hike. We made the best of it and got to the summit to see the remains of the fire tower. The summit was slippery and had no views. |
