Comments
Comments: This hike brought us to Black Mountain, Benton NH, #85 on the list of 93 fire towers that are standing, once stood or were proposed. We used the Chippewa Trail to get to the summit, but we stopped by the lime kilns first to see them, they are worth the side trip. The Chippewa Trail is a more scenic route to the summit then the Black Mountain Trail, which used to be the fire tower road.. The slab sections were wet, but we used caution on them. Overall the footing was pretty good and we didn't slip. There are fire tower remains on the summit. It was a nice hike, but a humid day.
We did post a video of our hike for anyone interested in seeing the hike and the trail. Just click the link
