Parking/Access Road Notes: Plenty of room at the Lincoln Woods parking lot. This is a fee lot with toilet facilities.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The two uppermost brooks were dry. The other crossings were easy due to low water levels.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trails in good condition. There is a short trail relocation to avoid a washed out area on the original pathway on the Bondcliff Trail where a stream had overflowed its banks. Some downed trees across the ground as one would expect in a wilderness area. The fallen beech tree that had blocked the trail has been cut up. Sign for the West Bond Spur faces north so northbound hikers can't read it directly however the trail entrance is obvious.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Fine for dogs. Plenty of water for the lower half of the trail. One tricky ledge just below Bondcliff that may require owner assistance for some dogs.
Bugs
Bugs: A few flying insects. None were biting.

Comments
Comments: Great day for a hike to the Bonds with excellent views in all directions. This is a long hike but the grades are not steep. Today the brook crossings were easy but they can be more difficult when water levels are high. Viewed a dozen ravens gliding around Mt Bond. The quiet of the wilderness was disturbed by the roar of military jet engines. Saw multi-day Pemi Loopers and other day trippers.
