Comments
Comments: Nash Stream Rd and Trio Ponds Rds were in great shape. Parked at the gated entrance of Phillips Brook Rd. After road walk of about .3 miles we headed right onto a 'trail' which opened into an old logging rd. Followed this for about a mile then headed left into the woods toward Middle summit. Easy going by following many herd paths through pretty open wooded conifers which lead us to the summit. From here we simply headed for Long pond, again on well traveled moose paths with open woods and then straight to West Long. Our descent was less open as we chose to skirt the north side of the ridge. Once we got to about 3400' elev. we kept to this contour for about .7 miles through thicker growth. At this point we decided to drop down and head in a more easterly direction to intersect with our original track. We picked this up just above the point we headed into the woods earlier in the morning. All in all a very pleasant day. My rating of the BW is 2/3's easy, 1/3 moderate. Total distance 7.3 miles in a leisurely 6 hours.
