Great day for a winter hike on a bluebird morning up to the Mt Tremont summit. Broke trail most of the way bare booting up and using micro-spikes going down in 3-4 inches of crusty snow on. Steep and a lot of switch backs on Mt Tremont's face, however nice and easy on the rest of the trail including some bare spots and a little less snow as well. Sunny and warm on the summit with just a slight breeze with a great view of Mt Carrigain and other surrounding mountains including Washington. Met a couple of hikers on my way down participating in the red line. |
