Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Everything easily crossed today, even the the two main crossings early on the Avalon Trail are now frozen over with a clear track and good steps. Water levels are low.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Many iced bendovers today due to the frozen wet snow. All but a few were easily cleared with pole whack or two. Big tree-down on the Avalon Trail just below the Avalon - AZ junction; many folks have cut & cleared the branches so its just a bendover to get past it. May become a crawl-under if we get a huge amount of snow this winter. It will be a chainsaw project next summer to get the tree out of the way.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: The two fine Goldens (aka: The Brown People) had a great hike here today and other dogs were out on the trail.
Bugs
Bugs: Didn't see or swat any.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Nope

Comments
Comments: Nice hike for two of the 52WAV peaks today. The trails are well packed out by snowshoers and booters. We snowshoed up and light-tractioned down. Solid footbed with no risk of postholing. Talking with other hikers indicates that the Avalon-AZ-WilleyRange loop and peaks are all broken out (trail between Field & Willey was getting broken out today). Should be good hikin' until we get more snow.
