Comments
Comments: Very easy ascent up through Smith Connector, minor mud, some snow but no traction needed. Some packed snow and ice through the White trails up to the summit, no traction needed. No significant ice or snow on summit. Threw on traction for portions of Red Spot, some steep descents with icy sections, probably being overly cautious. Did lose time getting lead off Red Spot by false cairns and dead-end footprints - mostly negligence as the real cairns and blazes are pretty obvious and unobscured by ice or snow. Minor spill on wet leaves but again, negligence. Wet and muddy out from Cascade Link to the parking lot but very manageable. Unbelievable weather today, barely qualified as winter hiking except for maybe the winds on the summit.
