Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: At trailhead parking pulloff on Clifford Brook Road (about .8 mi above the fish hatchery), room for about 4 cars (well-plowed but icy). Road to trailhead was sanded and well-plowed. The neighbors appear to patrol the area (friendly and helpful - not my first time seeing them).

Water Crossing Notes

Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Above about 1500' serious blowdowns along the trail up to the ridge. Lots of bypasses. At about 3200' I could not find the trail or the trail corridor. No blazes on this side though there was occasional pink flagging (not above where I lost the trail). Bushwhacked up the summit cone through semi-open fir forest, eventually intersecting the trail from the Three Ponds side. On the way down, not easy to follow from the summit direction until back on the portion of the trail that was once the jeep access road to the former firetower.

Comments
Comments: Excellent afternoon hike. Evidence of old snowshoe and bareboot tracks. Trail from Three Ponds side appeared more well-travelled than the western section I took.

Lots of moose postholes around 1900' heading uphill. Excellent views of Franconia Ridge today from the firetower footings. Always a fun peak to tag.... didn't see anyone else, as usual!!!! :)
