Comments
Comments: Skied from parking lot up Livermore Trail on groomed snow until the point ski trail turns off towards Snows Mtn. A lone skier had skied shortly after storm to north end of Tripryamid Trail junction before turning around. I snowshoed from southern junction and carried my skis and left them just above northern junction. At northern Tri junction I continue straight and begun my bushwhack attempting to follow grown in logging road. I often found the way through open woods just above better than on the old logging road that follows bank of brook. Snow was deep and got deeper all day. I pushed through aiming for ridge East of Scaur summit. I only knew I crossed Scaur Trail because I happened to see a yellow blaze but could think of no reason to follow trail when it was less distance to just go up. Fun to hit ridge and see mountains to the North. I may have hit Pine Bend Brook Trail or at least close, turned West and enjoyed easist snowshoeing of the day on the lovely windswept ridge. After much searching on high point I finally found Scaur sign, it is on tree at only waist high, I was looking up! Descent was fast and fun, happy to have my tracks to follow, good woods all the way. Skiing back down the Livermore Trail was excellent.
