Jefferson parking lot plowed as of 1:30pm. Starr King Road plowed as far as last house (couple hundred feet from trailhead), room for 1 car at end without blocking driveways. |

Quick solo up Waumbek via the OAB route. Found trail packed out but with unstable surface therefore snowshoes. Snow depth 1.5 below to 2.5 above. Snowed lightly for entire hike. Wind picking up, drifting on ridge. Busy day on Waumbek, also saw group of 3 and group of 5 (both barebooting), pair of skiers skinning up, and one other solo with rackets. Some shallow but messy postholing on the high ridge by those barebooting, but everything should be buried by tomorrow. Contemplated barebooting part of the descent of Starr until I ran into the skiers ascending. Gave them a smooth path down. |
