Parked at the winter gate, at the base of the Winslow State Park access road. The road was well-packed by snowmobiles, right up to the summer trailhead. From the trailhead to the summit it was knee-to-thigh deep powder, with occasional drifts up to my waist. Breaking trail was very arduous, even with snowshoes. Summit area is blown free of snow, except in sheltered areas where drifts and spruce traps are 4+ feet deep. Went back down the same way to came up to pack the trail further; it should be in great shape for the next snowshoer! |
