| Comments: |
It was a cold but nice day on this beautiful trail. Snowshoes from car to car (ok, road walk from parking lot to end of Starr King Rd). Had to break through 3"-4" of new/blown-in snow through the hardwoods and 6"-8" upon entering the fir wave up higher. The ridge between Mt Starr King and Mt Waumbek was completely blown in from the winds and light snow of the last few days, care should be taken trying to follow the trail in the more open parts of the ridge as the blazes are covered by clinging snow. Thanks for the trail-breaking help to Sandy and Sue. Passed Hiker Ed coming across the ridge as we were descending. |
