Part two: Waumbek. I made the crazy decision to leave snowshoes at the car after the miserable balling up coming off of Cabot. This was good until the evergreen trees, then got real tricky. Thank you for not barking at us, Steven and Erin! Great to see you guys out. It got a little better and we made real quick time to the summit. Then on the way out, two other bare booters had already descended and the real mess began. There were two on snowshoes coming out behind us so maybe they repaired some of it. Great time on Waumbek, quick hike, nice to see smiling faces and a few grouchy ones. I will wear my snowshoes today. |
