Davis Path up to the Mt. Crawford spur trail is well broken out and easy to follow. However the Crawford spur path was blown over in many areas making it difficult to follow. Once at the summit I was greeted with absolutely stunning views.
The Davis Path beyond the spur path is also well broken out however I was poked, prodded, slapped and scratched for virtually the entire way to the Mount Parker Trail, trying to sidestep, plow through and crouch under limbs and branches. Thieves cloaked in green were trying to steal my hat, poles and even my pack at every turn. This stretch might be enjoyable only if you wear a full suit of armor - helmet included.
Once at the Mount Parker junction I opted for Resolution not wanting to deal with the steeps and scrambles of Stairs with softening snow. However the Mount Parker Trail had not seen any activity for quite some time. I broke trail to the outlook below the summit and once there found no trace of a trail anywhere. I decided to rest there for a while before fighting my way back through the Davis Path en route back to the lot.
Other than two nice folks snowshoeing the lowlands I didn't see anyone else on this hike. Despite the effort on the Davis Path it was still a beauty of a day to be out.
