Comments
Comments: This trek was NOT a failed attempt to reach the summit of Mt. Hayes. Merely opted to stop at the ledges on the SW end and enjoy the views from there, rather than continue onward for 0.3 to the viewless summit that I've already tagged many times before.

Was able to do entire trek with Microspikes. There was a firm treadway covered by a couple inches of fresh snow. Obviously, since I only went as far as the ledges on the SW end of Mt. Hayes, I cannot report the trail conditions along the Mahoosuc Trail beyond the ledges.

Am uncertain if the Facebook link at bottom of this report will work for all readers. Nonetheless, some photos are posted there if you care to give it a try.
