Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: from signal mountain road just after mile marker 2 i turned right on millsfield loop road and followed it for about 3.4 miles to an old grassy logging road on the right blocked by some large rocks. i was able to park on the shoulder across from the log road. millsfield loop road was in good shape with a few rocks to dodge and a couple slightly collapsed bits of road over some culverts. non issue in a sedan. all roads are shared with atvs and logging trucks so drive accordingly.

Comments
Comments: i hiked up the old log road for a few minutes before turning right onto another nice grassy log road. just as this road was beginning to become grown in i hit a newer skid road running straight and steeply up the slopes of east kelsey. it was muddy and rough in spots up to its end a very short distance from the summit. a steep, but short bushwhack led up to the highpoint. views from the upper skid road were very nice. loads of fresh moose sign.
