|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
Brook crossings easily rock hop-able, We were able to cross Wild River just above no-spider bridge site with a little more challenging rock hops and we both kept our feet dry, Cypress Brook & Moriah Brooktoo. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Basin Rim Trail from Rim Jct to West Royce had many blowdowns. We removed a few dozen Christmas tree (spruce treetops) littering the trail. There are still a good number of trees that will require saw work and muscles to remove them. All the other trails had a few minor blowdowns. How sad the Highwater Trail has become, hobblebush, blowdowns and only a slippery leaf covered worn footbed to follow along the beautiful river. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
dog would like running under the blowdowns and all the brooks. |
|
| Bugs: |
No bugs to speak of today due to windy and cool temps. |

| Comments: |
Great views from all the ledgy open areas. Descending from West Royce on Basin Rim Trail we enjoyed terrfic views, snowcapped Mount Washington, Baldfaces and far away into Maine. Lovely woods. Only saw 1 friendly man near Meader and 3 people on Highwater. Saw Pepper and his man at the beginning of the day in the parking lot, sure hope they had a super day too. |
