Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: I was car # 4 in the parking area on Rt 302 across from the trailhead. Had it been a hotter day people park there to go swimming in the Saco.

Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Minor/Avoidable

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All crossings done with ease and dry feet.  
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: A large blowdown about 1/2 mile in has forced to hikers to forge a new trail to the right of the roots. Footing is not good. Accident waiting to happen. Other blowdowns are easily stepped ovber.  
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Only saw one dog but he was happy.  
Bugs
Bugs: Few to speak of. Some black flies at the summit.  
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Hiker from Montreal lost a GPS somewhere near the summit. If it's found email me and I can get in touch with him.  
 
Comments
Comments: Much harder and steeper hike than I anticipated. Great views from the summit. This is one of those less-than-4000 feet peaks that still packs a punch. Great hike!
