Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Stream at route 25C running at normal height and easily crossed by rock hopping.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Blazes from route 25C to halfway to Mt Mist good. All other white AT blazes to the pond, and all blue side trail blazes to Webster Slide summit very poor, most are nonexistent. Trail is still clearly visible though, but needs to have brush and vegetation trim back so it's not bushing the hiker throughout the entire length of this section. Use deet to avoid ticks. Approx 20 blow downs, all easily stepped over.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes:
Bugs
Bugs: No black flies. Minor Mosquitos near the streams. Used deet spray to avoid ticks, but did not see any ticks.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Found one flip flop sandal in a sapling along the trail to Mt Mist, left it there.

Comments
Comments: Hiked round trip from route 25C, to Mt Mist, to the pond, to Webster Slide summit cliff, and returned to route 25C. Weather excellent, clear, sunny, low humidity, 65 degrees, steady cool breeze. Some mud at about 15 small locations, easily crossed or avoided. Heard a report from SOBO hikers of a bear seen between route 25 and Route 25C, but we did not see any sign ourselves. On the Webster Slide summit, near the cliff, found a unmapped side trail to the southwest that leads to the "southwest view", this trail is to the right approaching the cliff from the summit, and the trail is marked with orange flagging tape on trees. it worth the 5 minute side trip to this small overlook to Mt Mist. Use caution descending the final 10 meters to this overlook as it is steep and there is also a cliff.
