Parking/Access Road Notes: Saw more cars than people on the trail. Plenty of room at the Unknown Pond lot.

Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: At the brook crossing on Bunnell Notch Tr we crossed on the log just upstream. The three on Unknown Pond Tr were barely rock hops. Probably would have had wet feet had we gone up this way in the morning.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: A FS truck was at the trailhead and a chainsaw could be heard up York Pond Tr. Flagging along Bunnell Notch Tr shows planned trail work and a couple short reroutes. Unfortunately I didn't see anything near the mud pits through the notch. The sign for the Cabot Spring Spur is missing but there is a cairn. One big birch across the trail below the cabin and a big spruce online with the trail between the cabin and the summit. Unknown Pond Tr is very brushy and muddy.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Another great hike for Marlie. Lots of mud and muck. She climbs The Horn better than I do.
Bugs
Bugs: Surprisingly not bad.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: There is a 1/4 bottle of 100 proof Southern Comfort in the cabin.🍸

Comments
Comments: I always enjoy this loop and the Kilkenny Ridge Tr. Met a group of 4 heading to the Weeks and only one other guy and his dog.
