Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Active logging is going on near the base. A connector trail has been made to lead you to the trail. Good info signs concerning this. One blow down on the whole trail - and not problematic.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Make sure you have enough for them.
Bugs
Bugs: A few skeeters and black flies.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: On the descent, I checked the time on my cheap, but well-loved, tracphone. This was the last ledge before the trail enters the steep woodsy area. I think it may have fallen out of my pocket between this area and where the trail becomes an easy gravel path. This is the same phone that survived a night on Moosilauke and was picked up by a thru-hiker and eventually returned to me. It would be fun to see if I get it back again! If anyone finds it, please email me. Thanks!

Comments
Comments: We were ambitious and had planned to go all the way to Red Ridge. But I was exhausted and nauseous and took forever just to get to South Moat, where I took a big nap! That did the trick, and I enjoyed my trip down. Great views, blueberries starting to ripen. Did this a couple years ago and was beaten to the summit by the fog. This time, we were more fortunate.
