Comments: Hike this with my wife Mary, brother & sister in-laws Rick & Lisa.

Started this bushwhack due from camp 7 on Cherry Mountain Rd. and soon picked up an old logging road for a little bit. W headed to the west peak of Deception through very open deciduous trees. Keeping in mind from read previous trip reports we stayed north of the west peak and then made our accent up steeper old growth conifers to a level area just below the summit with lots of blow downs.

We soon hit the west peak and dropped back down to the northern side of the cal on our way to east peak finding the canister fairly easy and putting our John Hancock down for the record. The last folks to sign in did so in December of 2014. On our way back we dropped of the north side cutting out the west peak through a veritable minefield of rotting biomass, trees and blowdowns and back to camp 7 and our cars. This was a fairly easy bushwhack without any thick and nasty stuff.
