| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
At intersection of Whiton Brook and Old Paugus Trail I went up and back on Old Paugus to the intersection of the Big Rock Cave Trail on Old Paugus Trail and this was on the only trial that I traveled today that had a few recent multiple big blow downs across them. Big Beech Trees that will be tough for the trail maintainers to cut away. |
| Dog-Related Notes: |
lots of water crossings today |
| Bugs: |
nice enough breeze kept them away today |
| Lost and Found: |
Lucky me, I found almost new container of SPF 30 suntan lotion at a campsite at the intersection of Bee Line and Bolles Trails. |

Perfect day to enjoy the Paugus ledges (if you haven't made the short bushwhack--at what feels like the top go south to the big blocky boulders and then head towards Passaconaway, you will see that there is a worn path thru a few trees and zingo you're at the best ledges in the Whites). No visit to the true summit of Paugus, actually I don't ever plan to visit it ever again. I enjoyed the soft footing of these well maintained but lightly used trails, especially the Whiton Brook Trail. Many pretty brooks and lots of good rocks to hop on to cross them. |
