Comments
Comments: Imp Trail from northern terminus to Imp viewpoint is in great shape. No standing water or mud. One log stairway missing many steps but causing no problems as terrain doesn't require stairway. Trail from Imp viewpoint to North Carter trail has some small mud areas embedded with rocks to aid passage. Many roots in this section of trail. North Carter Trail in good shape with a few muddy areas and one fallen tree parallel to trail but posing no hindrance to hiking. Carter-Moriah between North Carter and Middle Carter has some wet areas mostly spanned by good bog bridges. Imp Trail from North Carter Trail to southern terminus in generally good condition considering that it crosses through some wet areas. Met two AT thru hikers, two hikers involved in a bird study, and four hikers traversing the range from Moriah to Wildcat. Nice views just north of Middle Carter and from ledge on North Carter.
