Began on FR304A, easy going up until the second clearing where bear activity was very evident due to quite a bit of scat due to an abundance of raspberry pickings. We took a south to south/east direction up, skirting below the cliffs until we could find reasonable footing to go up a bit. Continued south to south/east, reaching Nuble Peak with a nice outlook to view Peak Above The Nuble, which we reached soon there after. Heading down, we somehow found ourselves above the cliffs we were below on the way up, but stayed parallel to our GPS route up and found a less steep way to get back to our original route. Back through the two clearings, and to the vehicle. This is not the most difficult bushwhack, lots of open forest. But, the steep cliffs can present challenges up and down. Compass and GPS, with hard copy maps were huge for us this day. Good team work navigating helps also! Not a lot of water in the area after you leave Haystack Road. It was hot and sticky and we did need to pump about 2/3rds of the way down as hydration all day was a must. Thanks to "Gadget" for another fine summit achievement.
