Trail Maintenance Notes: Avalon trail is erroded in parts but easy to follow. Sign for Avalon summit spur is broken and leaning on ground but currently pointing in correct directions

Dog-Related Notes: My 45lb Aussie had a blast.

Bugs: Lots of Mosquitos on lower Avalon (before A-Z starts). Bring LOTS of bug dope.

Comments: Overcast day, but great hiking. I'd also recommend highly gaiters as the mud was fierce on Willey Range Trail between Field and Willey. I also highly recommend the Avalon summit spur (0.1 miles or so off Avalon trail. FABULOUS views of the 3 peaks I'd just climbed and Crawford Notch.
