Comments
Comments: Trailhead signs read 4.7 to summit but my tracks agreed with the 5.1 miles marked on map. Nice quiet area. I goofed around Shingle Pond on way back and followed a herd path south and through the dry deep outlet of the pond. Fire tower is in great condition and the views were grand today! Didn't see a soul. I drove back over Hurricane Mtn Rd and noticed that the other trailhead had six cars parked there--I am sure they were treated to a fine sunset.
