A few (<8) blowdowns on Old Paugus, easily bypassed. Steeps on Wonalancet are a bit eroded in places w/ braided trail. |

We found a tattered light blue fleece jacket, women's, on Paugus below the summit. It was in bad shape; we carried it out. |

 | Comments: |
Looping Paugus and Wonalancet counter-clockwise, RGoH, party of 10. A few small icy patches, easily avoided if noticed 1st. Lots of deep, slippery leaves below the spruce-fir zone. Leaves obscuring obstacles & holes. Some wet ledge rock. A few blowdowns. The reconstruction of the Lawrence Trail looked GREAT, nice work. Someone has recently done some work to daylight a spur path to the big open ledge near the S. summit of Paugus--it is now easy to find. We did not bush to the N (main, woody) summit. |
