| Comments: |
The leaves are down on the lower half of this approach so some attention is needed - though most of it is a well graded path. Beyond that starts another section of maybe .75 - 1 mile of slick rocks and slabs with running water here and there, however there are enough dry sections to traverse with care. There are also a few herd paths skirting these areas.
A late start (for me) proved to be a bonus as most folks I encountered were doing the full S->N trek or were on their way back while I was ascending. I ended up having Middle Moat all to myself for quite a bit and even managed a little shut-eye on South Moat on my way out. Nice temps, no wind and enough sun made this one a winner! |
