Comments
Comments: mill brook trail was wet and a bit muddy in spots. we followed it until it had wrapped around the southwest ridge of deer and took a line on the summit. woods were open with good going. we hit the ridge a bit north of the highpoint and walked the open ridge up to the summit and firetower remains including footings, structural leftovers and the cabin with firewood still stacked inside. some good views out towards black crescent in particular and presumably the presidentials though they were still in cloud. the new wind towers on jericho easily spotted too. we then headed back north on the ridge up to the highpoint on deer ridge. lots of beautiful open woods and moose paths. from there we headed direct back to mill brook trail with generally open woods all the way. neat tower site and great woods for off trail hiking.
